Open Access Open Access

Abstract

WINDII - the Wind Imaging Interferometer on the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite has been acquiring data since Oct. 1, 1991. It is a CCD imager that views the earth’s limb through a Michelson interferometer, providing measurements of wind, temperature and species emission rates in the altitude range 80 to 300 km.
