Abstract

Laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopic studies of the A6Σ+–X6Σ+ electronic system of the MnO radical have been performed in an atmospheric pressure flame and a low pressure discharge flow. The 0,0, 1,1, and 2,2 bands were excited near 550 nm; excitation scans of the 0,0 and 1,1 bands showed favorable comparison with previous emission spectroscopic work.1 Relative vibrational band transition probabilities were determined from fluorescence emission scans.
