Theoretical development of an optical demultiplexer based on modal analysis of a five-layer waveguide

Abstract

We have performed a design analysis which indicates that a five-layer semiconductor-clad waveguide structure can act as an optical de-multiplexer, provided that the semiconductor cladding thickness is properly chosen.
