Abstract

Stimulated backward scattering of a pulsed laser at very low thresholds has been observed in isotropic liquid crystals. By comparing the temporal behaviors of transmitted and back scattered signals with that of the incident pulse, we notice that the pulse reshaping occurs at both transmitted and back scattered signals.
