Display of optical Fourier transforms for use in engineering education

Abstract

Optical Fourier transforming systems are useful tools for teaching Fourier analysis and synthesis to undergraduate electrical engineering students. The use of such systems is limited by the cost of the equipment and the difficulty of demonstrating the transforming properties to a large group of students.
