Abstract
Data obtained in the coastal Pacific Ocean in Monterey Bay shows that the overall behavior of the Fraunhofer lines agrees with theoretical predictions.1 However in the measured data the filling is much faster than can be predicted by Raman scattering alone thus the contribution of other sources of inelastic scattering to the light field is significant.
