High-power erbium-doped fiber amplifier using a single tapered-diode pump

Abstract

We report a single-stage EDFA, which uses a high power InGaAs diode laser,1 with a tapered gain region and operating near 980 nm, and achieves 114 mW (+20.6 dBm) at 1532 nm.
