Correlated atomic states and quantum noise in spectroscopy

Abstract

We have investigated, theoretically, the quantum mechanical noise in spectroscopic experiments on ensembles of two-level (or spin-1/2) particles where transitions are detected by measuring the changes in state population.1,2
