Measurement of the triplet lifetime of dye molecules by using frequency-domain absorption measurements

Abstract

The lifetime of the forbidden transition between the lowest lying triplet state and the ground state of a dye molecule is generally measured using a dual pump arrangement, whereby, one laser is used to create a triplet population and the second laser to probe the absorption between the triplet states [1].
