Abstract

We report on experimental and theoretical work on input couplers on nonlinear planar waveguides. We found bistability, and self-pulsing for CW input powers. We observed the part $\text{p}-{\text{p}}^{\prime }=\left(1-\widehat{\eta }\right)\text{p}$of the incident power p which is not coupled into the waveguide ($\widehat{\eta }$= coupling efficiency).
