Abstract

Ambipolar diffusion can be a major influence on the design and performance of arrays of bistable switches. This paper develops the theory of diffusive spatial coupling, both transverse and longitudinal (surface recombination effects). Possible improvements in the time response and output beam quality are demonstrated.
