Abstract

Clearly, one issue faced by emerging optical computing technology is the effective combination of parallelism with short cycle time in parallel processor arrays. In particular two-dimensional arrays of bistable or otherwise non linear elements may be interconnected by dense three-dimensional light beams into cellular processors.
