Operation Characteristics of Pixellated Nonlinear Interference Filters

Abstract

We present static and dynamic theoretical studies of the effects of material pixellation on the operating characteristics of bistable elements using nonlinear interference filters. These devices are based on a refractive thermal nonlinearity.
