Abstract

As research in the field of free-space optical interconnects (FSOI) evolves, better simulation methodologies are required to facilitate the design process and provide useful and accurate system modeling. Simulation methods addressing these issues have already been proposed [1, 2]. By modeling the power flow of light beams as they propagate through an interconnect, these methodologies provided system performance information in terms of signal-to-noise ratio, bit-error rate and bandwidth.
