Abstract
Optical networks for interconnecting massively parallel processor systems have the potential to provide high bandwidth, low latency communication paths. Circuit switching networks exploit this bandwidth by providing all-optical connections between a set of sources and destinations. This increases the complexity of managing the network, since the connections must be changed in a systematic way to provide the complete set of paths required by the application.
