Abstract

We have been developed the planar optical approach[1-3] in order to implement multistage interconnection networks (MIN) on a single glass block. Planar integrated optics composed of free-space optical components integrated on a glass block makes signal connections between 2-dimensional (2-D) arrays of input and output optoelectronic devices via 3-D glass space. Cascading operation in the optical multistage interconnections is based on the combination of signal beam array and clock beam array at the node stages[4], however, it has remained as one of the challenges to be solved to the planar integrated optics.
