Ultrashort laser pulse diagnostics using the local spectrum function

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel technique for generation of the local spectrum of an ultrashort laser pulse using time gating of a spectrally decomposed wave. The method allows reconstruction of pulse complex amplitude profile and real time visualization of the signal.
