Development of High Performance 86mm MO Disk by Using Polycarbonate Substrate

Abstract

We have developed a 86mm MO disk on the basis of 3-D thermal analysis of the disk mold and optimization of the protective layer. This disk shows excellent initial characteristics and reliability. This indicates we can manufacture high performance disks by using polycarbonate substrate.
