Phase transition mastering for Blu-ray ROM disc

Abstract

Recentry, the next generation optical disc system, Blu-ray disc system1) has been developed. The capacity of Blu-ray disc system is 25 GB with a 120 mm disc using 405 nm laser diode, 0.85 NA and 0.1 mm cover. The Blu-ray rewritable disc system will be soon in a market using a phase change medea for the application of high-definition video recording. As a derivertive system, Blu-ray ROM disc system is expected for the application of high-definition video contents distribution. The 25 GB Blu-ray ROM disc, however, can not be mastered using conventional mastering method.
