Bit-Error-Rate Performance Improvements of Three-Dimensional Modulation Codes for Imaging Page-Oriented Optical Data Storage Systems

Abstract

We describe a class of three-dimensional modulation codes for imaging page-oriented optical data storage systems such as those using two-photon technology. The codes have simple coding and decoding procedures and overcome intersymbol and interpage interference effects. We present analyses of the system and bit-error-rate performance improvements in the presence of noise.
