Abstract
Authors have found that the behavior of the DBR-SHG laser, especially in pulse modulation, is explained clearly by simple four equations each of which approximately represents wavelength deviation caused by electric current induced to the active part of the DBR laser and so on. The simulation results using those equations are coincident with the experiment results. When modulating the DBR-SHG laser to get write pulse-train, not only thermal effect but also direct index change in the DBR laser should be considered.
