Bidirectional Repeaterless WDM Transmission Using Eight 10Gb/s Channels

Abstract

Bidirectional repeaterless eight-channel-WDM transmission has been carried out using two erbium-doped fiber amplifiers serving both as a postamplifier and a receiver amplifier. An optical power budget of more than 34dB was attained at 10Gb/s for each channel.
