Polarization Power Correlation Function-Based Nonlinearity Monitoring in PM-16QAM Coherent Optical Fiber Transmission Systems

Abstract

A fiber nonlinearity monitoring method based on polarization power correlation function is proposed. Numerical results show 1.0 dB maximum estimation error of nonlinearity power in 224Gbps PM-16QAM system with 800 ~ 2800 km transmission length.
