Nonlinear self polarization-flipping in silicon waveguides

Abstract

We investigate the nonlinear interaction of the two polarizations in silicon waveguides and show that considering practical parameters, such as waveguide loss, dispersion and laser noise, these waveguides can show nonlinear self polarization flipping behavior.
