Abstract

A multiple-wavelengths plasmonic optical bistable device with low intensity threshold is numerically investigated by the surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) excitation in nonlinear metal multilayer nanostructure containing Kerr nonlinear medium. The huge local field enhancement is observed with SPP modes excitation and Fabry-Perot interference. Furthermore, the optical bistable devices with very low bistability threshold are obtained with 11-layer MEH-PPV films in the multilayer nanostructure for the wavelengths of 1550 nm, 1310 nm, 1064 nm, and 850 nm, respectively.
