Abstract

A novel concept of pressure sensor based on the surface plasmons (SP) resonance mode is proposed. Through the calculation of Finite Difference Time Domain method, the property of surface resonance mode existing hi hybrid plasmonic photonic crystal is investigated. Since the resonance wavelength of SP modes is mainly modified by effective refractive index, the sensitivity of SP modes to the deformation of dielectric spheres is much higher than guide mode. And this characteristic is helpful for the application of pressure sensor hi future.
