Abstract

In this paper, we have systematically studied the 10G L-band directly modulated DFB lasers with its potential applications in the 10G access network. Both the simulation and experimental results are indicating that the DML could be a promising solution to the low cost optical source for the downstream link of 10G PON infrastructure.
