Progress in long-wavelength sources and detectors

Abstract

The development of long-wavelength (1.0-1.6µm) sources and detectors is proceeding rapidly, and these devices are being seriously considered for the next generation of systems applications. This paper will review recent progress in this area with particular emphasis on detectors.
