Abstract

It has been pointed out that equivalent step-index (ESI) fiber with equivalent core- and refractive-index difference is useful as a universal expression of a single-mode fiber with an arbitrary index profile.1 However, a wide spectral range wavelength-dependence measurement of spot size was required for determination of ESI.1,2
