Abstract

The two low attenuation windows of single-mode fibers around 1.3μm and 1.5μm make wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) very attractive, particularly for bi-directional metropolitan transmission systems. We report an experimental demonstration of its application at 144 Mb/s.
