Abstract

Recently techniques for optical pulse compression have received both theoretical and experimental attention.1,2 This involves the generation of an enhanced frequency chirped pulse using a nonlinear normal dispersive medium followed by a medium with anomalous group velocity dispersion. Two systems have been reported at 619 nm. One involves a nonlinear optical fiber followed by a grating pair.1
