Abstract

In an image fiber system, to get a bright highresolution long transmission image, the element fibers of which the fiber scope is composed need to have low attenuation and high N.A. To address these application needs, a new high N.A. fiber based on silicate glass has been developed. This paper describes the results of the fabrication developments and the fiber characteristics.
