Auxiliary data paths for optical-fiber systems

Abstract

It has become desirable to transmit low-speed data used tor optical-fiber supervisory systems and other possible purposes in conjunction with high-speed data over the same fiber. Two methods have been studied, both of which involve adding an extra signal to the light source driver signal.
