Abstract

Interest in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) has resulted in the development of various wavelength selection techniques for use with optical fibers. Previously reported devices have utilized external dispersive elements 1,2 or differential waveguide dispersion3,4 to obtain a wavelength-selective output from a broadband input source. These techniques are limited by either low efficiency or the broad spectral width of the filtered output.
