Abstract

Distributed feedback laser diodes (DFB LDs) have been developed as dynamic single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) light sources for long-distance and high-data-rate optical fiber communication systems. Recently the discussion about DFB LDs has focused on longitudinal-mode behavior related to threshold gain degeneration between ТЕ − 1 and ТЕ + 1 modes.
