The bending performance of matched cladding, depressed cladding and dispersion flattened single mode fibres

Abstract

In addition to attenuation and dispersion, the bending performance of single mode fibers is extremely important for the practical application of the fibers in telecommunication systems. The development of fiber designs with low loss and/or low dispersion is at least doubtful without investigating associated bending resistance.
