Abstract

A fiber optic transmission system is required for advanced CATV networks, which can upgrade the current coaxial system and provide HDTV services to achieve high quality multichannel video signal transmission of up to eighty channels over long distances (more than 15 km) with high reliability. From an economic point of view an AM link is desired for existing CATV systems.1
