Abstract

The composite triple beat (CTB) is an important parameter for describing the third-order distortion in a lightwave CATV transmission system. It is also a main concern of distortion in a one-octave load system. The typical specification for CATV application is ~60 dBc or better. The frequency dependence of CTB across channels becomes an interesting topic when one considers expanding the channel capacity of the system.
