Abstract
Organic polymer materials have attracted much attention because of their fabrication flexibility and the controllability of optical properties such as refractive indexes. However, the major disadvantage of organic materials is that they have a large absorption in the infrared region, 1.0-1.6 µm, which is used for telecommunications and data communications. Few organic waveguides with losses below 0.1 dB/cm have been reported for use in this region.1
