Abstract

The quality of service provided by a system is measured by its productivity and responsiveness.1 For FDDI, the productivity under heavy load is measured by its efficiency, which is defined as the ratio of usable bandwidth to the total bandwidth. The responsiveness under heavy load is measured by the access delay, which is defined as the want-token to get-token interval.
