Abstract
A number of previous efforts have been directed toward producing gratings in or along optical waveguides. Photosensitivity of a germanium-doped core has been exploited to form longitudinal Bragg reflection gratings.1,2 Techniques employing photoresist have been used to fabricate surface-relief gratings for narrow-band filtering in optical fibers.3,4
