Abstract

Several optical communication systems require lasers to operate in a single spectral and spatial mode. For example, high power distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) lasers are applicable to satellite communication systems. High-power DBR lasers are also of key importance in integrated laser structures such as master oscillator power amplifiers (MOPAs).
