Abstract

The ion-exchanged waveguide devices are promising for use in fiber-optic transmission systems such as local area networks because they are low loss and low cost. The object of this work is to demonstrate a new and effective method to decrease scattering loss at a waveguide Y-branch for low-loss glass waveguide 1×N splitters.
