Abstract

Er3+-doped-fiber lasers are being actively developed for telecommunications, nonlinear optical phenomena, and signal prosessing because they have a high output power and a narrow bandwidth in the 1.55-μm region.1,2 In this paper we report on the single-polarization optical-fiber laser used by the all-fiber polarizer, based on a fused single-mode fiber coupler.
