Abstract

For full-scale fiber to the home (FTTH), high-density fiber cables would be required.1 Reducing the coating diameter of optical fiber is the most effective method for realizing such cables. However, reducing the coating diameter can cause degradation of microbending characteristics and the fiber’s resistance to external forces.
