Abstract
Fiber phase gratings written by two-beam interference of a UV laser source1 are effective wavelength-selective reflectors and as such are particularly well suited to applications such as fiber lasers. However, there is much need for low-loss fiber transmission filters. Very-narrow-bandwidth fiber-grating Fabry– Perot transmission filters have been demonstrated.2 However, these are not suitable for applications requiring wide pass- bands.
