Abstract
Free-space optical interconnects are promising ways of realizing direct interboard connection in electronic systems.1,2 Highspeed interconnection modules using array devices are being actively studied for both fiber-based3 and free-space4 interconnects. The tolerances for lateral/angular displacements of arrayed free-space interconnects are usually limited by the array-element spacing, and this makes it difficult to apply them in real systems. This paper proposes an arrayed free-space optical interconnection module pair that has large tolerances for board displacements.
