Low-cost mechanical fiber-optic switch

Abstract

The design of an inexpensive fiber-optic switch must satisfy two high-level objectives. First, the components in the switch must have loose tolerances and be fabricated from inexpensive materials. Second, the design must facilitate quick and easy assembly, with no operator alignment.
