Abstract

The development of wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) systems requires multiwavelength laser sources with precise wavelength control, uniform properties, and reduced cost for fabrication and assembly. Standard fabrication processes of such components, which involve electron-beam lithography or several steps of holographic exposure to generate gratings of different pitches, are not compatible with large scale manufacturability.
