Abstract

A dispersion-compensation fiber (DCF) with W-shaped profile has a negative high dispersion and a negative dispersion slope, simultaneously.1 By optimizing the refractive index profile, we developed a dispersion flat compensation fiber (DFCF) that could compensate a dispersion and a slope of SMF at wavelength range from 1.53 µm to 1.56 µm.2 In this report, dispersion and nonlinear properties for W-shaped DCF were studied, compared with matched clad DCF.
